Adrenoleukodystrophy is a inherited genetic disorder. Adrenoleukodystrophy results in degeneration of the fatty insulation covering on nerve fibers in the brain. Symptoms of Adrenoleukodystrophy may include vision loss, seizures, hearing loss and progressive dementia.

There is no known cure for the neurologic defects of Adrenoleukodystrophy. Adrenoleukodystrophy often causes death within 10 years of the onset of symptoms. There is no way to prevent Adrenoleukodystrophy.
